Fair Radio Sales Surplus Macom 16179/3001-4033-00 Dummy Load

Image
I got one of Fair Radio Sales surplus FAA-DUMMY dummy loads. It came marked Macom 16179 and 3001-4033-00, which is essentially unfindable. Presumably those are internal or customer part numbers for the component in its original application. Anyways, what is it and what's inside? Overview of the load with an additional N-to-BNC bulkhead adapter

XUNBUMA T-1000-12 Power Supply Teardown

Image
What does the inside of a transient-brand power supply found extremely cheaply on marketplace-style, monopolistic web stores (usually under other brands) look like? Let's go over the outside, then dive in. Smudgy case, warranty void, and I had already taken some quick notes on the guts from popping the cover the first time. What does it say? The manufacturer and part number XUNBUMA T-1000-12 followed by alleged regulatory markings of a fairly accurate CE mark and "RHOS" (the strangest take on EU RoHS I've seen in a while) and rounded out with the very abbreviated ratings AC Input: 110V 47/60 Hz, DC Output: 12V 83A. No FCC marking nor Part 15 statement.
