POTA Award Achievement: James F. LaPorta N1CC Activator

With the QSOs from my trip to California in October, I finally completed the requirements for a long-sought-after POTA award. James F. LaPorta N1CC Activator: Having QSOs from 10 different entities on 10 different band. I was trying to not have only one state (Wisconsin) parks on the list and ended up getting a 3-fer in California that satisfied the 10-band target. So not quite coast-to-coast, but more than just the local parks!

Of course, not all of this was done to just the minimum standard. With the power of tri-band HTs, VHF contesting, and a multi-band capable local in Wisconsin, I was able to overshoot on seven of the ten awarded parks. These are 11 to 13 bands with the exclusion of 160m in preference for filling in 60 and 1.25m. The top entries are all Wisconsin, then the just-10-bands entries are from San Fransisco, California.

And the runners-up parks are a majority in Wisconsin with one near my hometown in Maine ranging from six to nine bands activated. If there was a second-round award, I'd love it! I'll still keep working on adding unique bands where possible.

Onward to more radio operation!
